It's weird what you take for granted, I've (obviously) lived in England my whole life and have never done anything touristy here or been to any of the touristy places, I dunno why. Thats why I plan on making up for it on my trip to London in 2 weeks, when I lived there I never went to touristy places because I assumed I'd always live near them.

If you do ever come to England, I'd recommend Ashdown Forest. It's where AA Milne lived and theres the real 100 Acre Wood there, but even if you don't give a fig about Winnie The Pooh its still an amazing , beautiful, natural place, especially if you wander away from the pathways (though I haven't been there for many years, so I dunno if its changed at all, I wouldn't imagine so)

yes exactly! i know the states don't really have architecture that you see in europe, but i still think that a lot of people don't appreciate what actually *is* here. it's my goal to see as much of the world as possible, and that includes what's here in my own country.

well i'll definitely keep that in mind now. i think people tend to stick with just the hot spots and don't feel comfortable enough to explore the unfamiliar, which is what i crave.
