Oops!
I broke the water ride today

Well, technically it wasn't my fault it broke. When we went in this morning, the conveyor belt had moved itself over to the left by ten centimetres. I put it on the faults sheet, showed my supervisor when he came to sign us open, and he said it was nothing to worry about and opened the ride. That right there is what broke the ride thank you very much.

I was operating the ride just fine for one hour, and then two very large people wanted to come on together. Their combined weight was over what is really allowed in each boat, but they weren't gonna sink the thing and I've let large people go on before with no issues. Plus I don't feel comfortable telling people "sorry, you're too fat". So I let the two of them go on together. Everything was fine until they got all the way around the ride and started to come back up the conveyor belt again. The weight in the boat couldn't get up the conveyor, but thats no problem, it happens alot, it just means I have to go and help it along by standing on the belt and pulling the boat. Just as the boat started to come up the conveyor, the belt started moving further and further to the left as it was going, and then the whole belt just folded itself in half and stopped working.

We shut the ride down and called the manager, who called maintenence. You know its bad when maintenence just stand around looking at it scratching their heads. They're gonna have to get the people who actually made the ride to come and fix it, so God knows how long the ride will be down for. When Craig broke a ride, it took 5 weeks to fix it.

At least it livened my day up! And I'm usually on the water ride on Monday's so with any luck I might get the day off tomorrow.

Aww--well, at least it wasn't traumatic and they didn't blame you for it!

Hopefully it takes long enough to fix that you'll get a break!
